In the recent years agriculture has not played a major role in the development of the country. A lot of the terrains are use to grow trees that will be turned into charcoal. Not enough crops or products are cultivated and provided to the population. Although more than 50% of the Haitian population work in agriculture, up to half of the country's food is imported.
With 66% of the laboring population deriving its living exclusively from the soil, farming is the mainstay of the Haitian economy. Through this project, we will provide farmers the necessary tools, equipment, and resources to be successful. Our plan, through technical assistance and education, will not only bring agriculture back to life and provide jobs it will also change the mentality about the importance of farming in the country giving farmers the respect they deserve.
Mission |
Our mission is to promote practices that maximize yield and minimize negative effects on environment, spark interest in and introduce alternative farming methods, and promote sustainable agriculture.
|
Vision |
We aim to revive agriculture while increasing farmers' level of productivity. We aim to improve farmers' knowledge with new techniques and technologies, as well as providing them with physical resources necessary for implementation which will in turn lead to job creation.
